Bill Abbott didn’t follow the usual path to become a professional artist. His prior careers included work as a stockbroker for a Wall Street firm, a member of an elite military unit, and a special agent in law enforcement. Only then did he feel suitably prepared to become a professional cartoonist and illustrator. This was not to be his last gross miscalculation.
Abbot’s work has been published in Reader’s Digest, The Saturday Evening Post, The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, and other publications in the U.S. and abroad. His cartoons are internationally syndicated in Buffalo News, Chicago Tribune, Ottawa Citizen, and other newspapers. Additionally, his work has been licensed for a variety of products including figurines cocktail napkins, calendars and greeting cards.
