David Snyder’s successful career in advertising as a designer, art director, and illustrator left him yearning to paint the transportation history he remembered from his youth. The artistry of the automobile never escaped his attention. Snyder says, “I have nurtured that passion – art, history, and, in particular, transportation history – and brought it together to celebrate the richness of the generations before us.”
Snyder’s automotive-themed paintings portray memories of growing up with cars from the Fifties through the American Muscle era. His paintings invite viewers to “step right in” and visit the past. Known for fidelity to detail, Snyder spends countless hours on research before beginning a painting. No detail is too small. His work faithfully represents architecture, signage, oil cans in the garage bay, and other signature elements of each period. Snyder's paintings and prints are collected worldwide and he has received numerous awards for his work. He has sold nearly 100 limited-edition prints. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Snyder graduated from Central Academy of Commercial Art located in his hometown. Now he lives in Milford, Ohio, with his wife and business partner Marion. They have two daughters, three grandsons, and one granddaughter.
